Contracts and handbooks are your first line of defence against employee issues, setting clear employment terms, outlining essential HR procedures, and establishing clear expectations and rights on both sides.

As an employer, you have specific legal duties to meet when hiring employees, which differ based on the type of contract you hold with the employee. The same is true if you plan on carrying out contractual changes across your workforce.

Often the importance of reviewing these documents and keeping them up-to-date can be underestimated. However, they are crucial in protecting your organisation should an employee dispute arise further down the line.

From 6 April 2020, the government’s Good Work Plan will impact businesses across all sectors. Following the results of an independent review known as the Taylor Review of Modern Working Practices in July 2017, the plan sets out three significant changes to employment law intended to improve the rights of employees and workers.

During this webinar, we will take a deeper look into these new requirements and how they will impact both your employee contracts and business processes.

In addition, there are also some further changes to employment law which, despite not yet having an implementation date, are set to come into force in 2020.
