Tune in live: Friday 24th July
14:00 - 14:45

Having made “major progress” in tackling COVID-19, pubs, restaurants, holiday accommodation, hairdressers and barbers in Scotland are all tentatively reopening their doors.

From Wednesday 22 July, beauticians and nail salons will follow suit with enhanced hygiene measures, and universities and colleges will be able to introduce a phased return to on-campus learning, as part of a blended model with remote teaching, from the same date.

Meanwhile, a number of other activities remain under review and are unlikely to resume before 31 July. These include indoor entertainment venues and gyms, live outdoor events, and non-essential offices and call centres.

Schools have already been told to prepare for pupils to resume full-time study from 11 August.

With organisations at various stages of reopening, join Principal Employment Law Adviser and Solicitor, Hussain Kayani, and Health & Safety Consultant, Gail Dyer, for a free Scotland-specific insight and advice session, where we’ll be exploring how employers can get back to business confidently and compliantly, and maintain strong teams and safety practices in Phase 3.

The pair will be addressing:

  • The current government position: where are we now?
  • Reopening safely and maintaining compliance
  • The revised one-metre rule and face covering requirements
  • How to manage high-risk employees once shielding ends
  • The right way to deal with refusals to work
  • Carrying over unused holiday entitlement and forcing annual leave
  • The best-practice approach to managing absence
  • What to expect in Phase 4.

There will also be an opportunity to put your urgent questions to our experts for clear, practical advice, either during the session or directly to your inbox afterwards.

With Scotland having taken a more cautious approach to lifting lockdown, this 30-minute update will help you to implement government guidance confidently, anticipate potential issues, and ultimately minimise any delays in getting your business back on track.

Due to the high relevance of these webinars for businesses, our virtual training sessions have been regularly oversubscribed and we tend to receive hundreds of questions. Please rest assured that even if we don’t have time to answer your question during the Q&A, we will respond to you personally afterwards.
