What sorts of documents can you draft?
Just about anything and everything you might need during the employment relationship. All of our advisers are qualified legal professionals or on the road to formal qualification, which means we can support you with a full spectrum of advice and documentation, from first written warnings to new contractual clauses, to a policy you might not have in your handbook, plus more complex legal documents like settlement agreements and redundancy outcome letters.
I have lots of minutes to turn into an outcome letter. Can you help?
Yes. One of the key benefits of our HR solutions is the amount of time saved dealing with employee issues. In respect to document drafting, instead of trawling through 20 pages of minutes and witness statements in order to produce a disciplinary outcome letter, we can do this for you. We’ll not only ensure the letter covers all bases from a legal perspective but, if taken as part of our core Employment Law and HR service, guide you through every step of the process.
Can I write these documents myself?
You can, but unless you have a firm understanding of Employment Law, there’s margin for error. A settlement agreement, for example, is a complex legal document, and unless they are drafted correctly the employee may still be able to bring a claim. Seeking help from a professional is the best way to ensure your important documents are compliant and effective.
I’ve got a HR team and just want templates we can use. Do you have a resources bank?
Yes, our fixed-fee Employment Law and HR support includes full access to our Knowledge Hub, available through MyEW, which contains most of the templates we work from. If you have an internal HR team, you may prefer to access these and tailor them yourselves. However, for more complex cases, we would always suggest engaging with our legal advisers as it can be all too easy to word something in a way that leaves you exposed.
What’s the turnaround time on producing a document?
We aim to respond to all emails as soon as possible, but at the very latest within 24 hours of receipt. Some complex documentation can take longer to produce but your dedicated team will work with you to understand your needs and manage the employee’s expectations in that regard.
Will these documents be stored so that I can access them again later?
Yes. Our online platform, MyEW, contains a secure area where you can store all of your EW-created documents, plus any other important documents, for easy access.
